Leska is an indoors cat but we let him out each day for an hour or so on a harness and leash. It took a couple months for him to get used to it - after practising regularly he now knows that his red harness means he gets to go outside. As soon as he sees us picking it up he meows expectantly and sits still so we can put it on, purring loudly as we click it into place. The first thing he does outside is roll around in the sun! Here are some pictures from the weekend.....

What kind of harness do you use with Leska - and when do you start the harness training - we have a SFC at well - she is just now 7 months and just a bit over 4lbs so she is small. I think she would love to take an outside break but I have no idea where to start. thanks. - Leska is so lovely can't wait to hear how introducing a new cat goes.

Hi Kim, so sorry I only just saw this post! Aww you have a Siberian? Aren't they the greatest cats? :-) Well we started using the harness on Leska probably when he was about 6 months old. He hated it at first and would go onto his belly on the floor like something heavy was on his back (I think they have a lot of nerve endings and are really sensitive to anything touching their back - it feels like they are being constricted).
